After winning their first two matches in Group A against Ireland and Pakistan with convincing victories, India, currently ranked as the number one T20I team in the world, is all set to face co-hosts USA in their third league stage match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday, June 12th. This match marks the first-ever T20I encounter between India and the USA and will take place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Both India and the USA have won two matches each in the tournament so far, and the winner of this match will secure the first spot in the Super 8s from Group A. In case the match gets washed out due to rain, Pakistan will be eliminated from the tournament as they won’t be able to match India and the USA’s points tally.

While India stuck with the same lineup in their first two matches, they might make a change in their playing XI for the game against the United States. One of Sanju Samson or Yashasvi Jaiswal could be included, replacing the out-of-form Shivam Dube. Dube hasn’t been performing well with the bat recently, and he wasn’t utilized as a bowler by Rohit Sharma in the previous matches. In his place, India might bring in a specialist batter.

Jaiswal is the top contender to get a chance in the XI as he is a specialist opener, which would allow Virat Kohli to return to his usual position at number 3. Kohli opened the innings in the first two matches but didn’t score many runs. The Indian team management would prefer to have Kohli back at his regular spot, where he has piled up a mountain of runs, and have Jaiswal open alongside Rohit.

While the pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj have performed well for India, along with the all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel, the same can’t be said about Ravindra Jadeja. The 35-year-old star cricketer failed to score against Pakistan and is yet to take a wicket in the ongoing tournament.

However, despite his recent form, it’s highly unlikely that Jadeja will be dropped from the playing XI to make way for Kuldeep Yadav or Yuzvendra Chahal.

With Kohli at number 3, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal are set to open for India in their upcoming game against the USA. While the USA team won’t be an easy opponent, India might take this opportunity to experiment a bit in this Group A clash. If Kohli moves down the order, Jaiswal will be the perfect

India’s probable playing XI for the T20 World Cup 2024 match against the United States: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj.

Jasprit Bumrah Breaks Down How He derailed Pakistan

Hey there! Can you believe it’s been a whole day and we’re still buzzing from what went down? In the bright New York sun, India pulled off an incredible comeback against Pakistan, marking one of their most impressive victories in recent memory.

This win is right up there with their triumph over Pakistan in Melbourne a year and a half ago, during the T20 World Cup opener. Back then, Virat Kohli, the maestro of modern cricket, stole the show. But this time, it was all about Jasprit Bumrah, India’s ultimate match-winner with the ball. It’s worth mentioning that he wasn’t even part of the 2022 team due to a serious back injury.

At one point, it seemed like the match was slipping away from India’s grasp. Pakistan needed 40 runs off 36 balls, with Mohammed Rizwan holding the fort. It looked like game over for Rohit Sharma’s men, until Bumrah (3/14) decided he wasn’t going to let that happen.

His last two overs, the 15th and 19th of the innings, only cost five runs, causing Pakistan to choke while chasing 119.Bumrah reflected on the game-changing 15th over, where he dismissed Rizwan, saying, “If that over had gone Pakistan’s way, the game would have shifted in their favor. We were thrilled that we pulled it off, and at that moment, the tide turned in our favor.”

Bumrah stepped up as the leader, guiding the bowlers on how to regain control when things seemed to be spiraling. The pitch offered a fair bit of assistance, but the challenge was not to get carried away or go for a magic delivery that could backfire. While the 30-year-old was more than happy to share the credit with his teammates, there’s no denying that he’s been in the form of his life across all formats in recent months.

Is Bumrah currently in the prime of his career?
With a smile, he responded, “A year ago, people were saying that I might not play again and that my career was over. Now, the question has changed. But I don’t see it that way. For me, it’s about bowling to the best of my ability and finding solutions to the challenges in front of me.”

When the outside noise gets too loud, Bumrah believes in creating his own “bubble” and focusing on controlling what he can.”I know it sounds cliché, but all I do is try to find the best approach for myself. If I start paying attention to people and the pressure, my emotions take over and it doesn’t work for me. So, I create my own little bubble and give it my all,” the champion bowler revealed.
